Two Wednesday's ago I got a call from a friend of mine from out of town. She asked me if I wanted to go to Florida with her and a few other girls. I told her I would check out the tickets, but not to keep her hopes up too high. I really didn't think it was possible, especially on such short notice. The tickets were sky rocketing high. I looked on Thursday, and on Friday and the tickets were still outrageously expensive. It wasn't worth going. Motzei Shabbos for the fun of it, I checked the prices of the tickets again. This time the tickets were half the price, and much much cheaper. I made my ticket and was in Florida a few days later.
- The plan was, we would all fly out early Wednesday morning and meet at the airport in Florida. Two girls were coming from Baltimore. Instead of flying out from Baltimore they decided to fly out from Washington. HP! There was massive snow storm in Baltimore that day and the Baltimore airport closed down.
- All of us were flying from different places, it was major HP that none of our flights were canceled. Most of the flights after ours were canceled.
- The first night we got there we needed coals to cook our chicken. We also needed drinks and Kettle Cooked barbecue chips. My friend and I decided to run out and see if we could find a store. We found a gas station and did our grocery shopping there. My hands were getting full (gas stations don't provide shopping carts- by the time you push it through the door, you've been through the whole store.) I went to put the groceries on the counter. As I was putting it on the counter I suddenly asked the cashier if there was a grocery store near by.
"Ya, there's one right down the block, it closes in three minutes at 9:00. "
My friend and I quickly put everything back, - that took half a minute. We jumped in to the car and flew down the block to the grocery store. -that took a minute and a half. We each went to get the items on our shopping list.- that took my friend one minute and me ten minutes. We made it just in time! - We couldn't visit Florida without watching sunset and daven mincha on the beach. When we went, we had to pay for parking. At first we couldn't find any quarters. We finally found exactly enough quarters. It gave us enough time to take pictures, daven mincha, take pictures, watch sunset and take pictures. When we got back to the car there was exactly two minutes left.
- When my friend got home she realized that she lost her camera. She called the rental car place (the car was rented out already) and she called the place where we stayed on Shabbos. They couldn't find it. The next day she got a call from the lady we were staying by.
"My kids are coming to visit this week, as I was making the beds for them and moving the bed, I saw on the floor none other then your camera. If they hadn't been coming I would not have found your camera for a long time!" - We had gone shopping one day and I bought a big bottle of hand cream. When I was packing I realized that it's considered liquid and they wouldn't let me on with it. Since the airport is more concerned that this bottle of hand cream might high jack the plane then Bal Tashchis I realized they would probably throw it out. I only had a carry-on and wasn't checking my bag. When I got to the airport they told me that my bag was too big to fit on the plane so they put it under the plane for me!
- My parents had gone to Florida the same time. On the way back we flew on the same day. Since I landed forty-five minutes before them, I was able to pick up the car for them from the airport parking lot, scrape the snow off the car and pick them up!

Normally the sun sets on the west. You managed to find a beach that also faced west, not too many of those in S. Florida.
